ICU Mobile Ultrasound Unit
God has given His people a vision to expand His territory throughout Southern Nevada in order to reach more and more families who are being preyed upon by the deception of abortion. The capital campaign for this vision is titled, “Miracle for Eternity” in which funds are being raised in order to plant more Medical Centers in our community. When the campaign was first announced, there were two Medical Centers, one on West Charleston and one in Henderson and in just one year after launching the campaign, another location was established in the vital area of UNLV – the area where one of the busiest abortion clinics is located.
Ironically, just as this momentum was moving at a miraculous pace, the downfall in the economy hit Southern Nevada and many of Women’s Resource Medical Centers of Southern Nevada’s (WRMCSN) faithful donors. The donations dropped so significantly that we had to close one of our Centers, our Henderson location. We were all devastated and we have not ceased in prayer for God to re-establish a presence there. Now, recently on September 30, 2010 we closed the doors of the Medical Center that served the neighborhood of UNLV. Alongside our landlord, the Southern Nevada Baptist Association, we did everything we could to continue to occupy that location but this ended up being a decision that was completely out of our control. We are so very grateful for the Southern Nevada Baptist Association and for all that they have done for WRMCSN in hosting that location and for immediately joining us in prayer for God to reveal His plan.
God graciously gave us His plan and in doing so He answered all of our prayers at once – our prayers for the restoration of the Miracle for Eternity Campaign, our prayers for re-establishing Henderson and our prayers for keeping a presence in the vital neighborhood of UNLV. The Women’s Resource Medical Centers will be partnering with a national Christian organization called Image Clear Ultrasound. A fleet of Image Clear Ultrasound Mobile units are popping up around the country by partnering with local crisis pregnancy centers who are purchasing and operating them as one of their clinics. This is the same concept of a mobile mammogram bus or a mobile blood drive unit. The Image Clear Ultrasound Mobile unit can be located in front of abortion clinics, college campuses, at large special events, and shopping centers. The WRMCSN will purchase and operate one unit and then strategically schedule its location. We will not only operate the unit RIGHT ON the campus of UNLV, but on all the other college campuses as well, along with ensuring our services to Henderson and North Las Vegas!
Not only will this unit expand the territory of WRMCSN in the mission field of Southern Nevada, but it will do so at a minimum cost. Initially, we will need to raise only $75,000.00 for the purchase, internal remodeling and first year’s operating costs. Thereafter, we have forecasted the yearly costs to approximate only a third of what we would be paying to operate a single location from a leased property. Praise the Lord!
Although we have closed two Medical Centers, we are still serving the same number of clients with the utmost of excellence. We are still considered to be one of the busiest crisis pregnancy centers in the nation. There is however, a large number that we are not reaching. Las Vegas is considered one of the top five high risk abortion cities in America. There are currently seven very successful abortion clinics doing business here in our city. Our local mission field is waiting for more workers to join the harvest and I truly believe that the time is now! We do not have to wait until the recession is over, because God has provided a way that is affordable! To the contrary, the recession is actually causing the mission field to grow as more and more families are contemplating abortion due to the threat of impoverishment.
Please pray for this new initiative, that it will be established quickly and that many lives will be saved. Pray even now for the clients who will be served through the mobile unit, that their hearts will be prepared to receive the gospel message and that there will be an abundance of minds that are changed from death to life. Please pray that this territorial expansion will make such an impact that all seven abortion clinics will simply go out of business and our city will be taken off the top five list completely!
