Special Events Coordinator
Judy Puente started her radio career in Rockford, IL. She has worked in major markets as a radio host, from the East to the West coast, with a stop in Chicago. During her career, she has introduced artist on stage, interviewed celebrities, hosted live remote broadcasts, and radiothons.
Judy had never been to Las Vegas until a job offer came her way in 1993 to co-host a morning show on KLASSY 100. She accepted the offer and moved her family from San Diego to embark on a new adventure. She was called back to Las Vegas 3 times with the most recent being in 2011 after living in Homewood, IL for seven years. Her son and granddaughter still reside in Las Vegas. While Judy’s daughter is married and lives in Illinois and has three children. When Judy was working in radio in San Diego, she met a young lady named, Misty, who invited her to attend church. At an Easter Sunrise service in 1993, Judy said yes to an invitation to accept Jesus as her Lord. As many will say, and Judy agrees, her life has never been the same!
In her life, Judy has worn many hats. During some of her time away from Las Vegas, she worked as a Special Event Planner for the Main Street Project in Belvidere Illinois. Upon one of her returns to Las Vegas, she worked as a wedding planner at the Little Church of the West and later at the MGM Forever Grand wedding chapel. Most recently, she was the Program Director for the Christian Radio station KWAVE, in Las Vegas. She initiated the startup from when it
went on the air New Year's Eve, in 2012. Through this invitation from the Lord, she’s built relationships within the Las Vegas Community that will assist her with the new position at the Women’s Resource Medical Centers.
I was introduced to the Center when volunteered as a Missionary Counselor. I later took the public speaking class offered by the Center to be on the WRMCSN SPeakers Bureau. During that time, the Lord put on my heart these words, “How can you speak about something you have not healed from?” That revelation made me realize that I carried a deep wound that was buried from many years before. I was divorced, a young mother of two, and in an ungodly relationship when I became pregnant. Frightened, ashamed and without hope, I chose to abort my baby, and bury that pain so I could move on. Or so I thought! In the summer of 2016, for the first time, I shared with the ladies at the Women's Resource Centers my secret and started the post abortive bible study called HEART, Forgiven and Set Free. I have found that facing and dealing with the past without condemnation brought a healing that only Jesus Christ could do and have experienced a freedom in Christ I had never felt before.
I am excited to be able to share the talent and skills the Lord has given me to support and come alongside this ministry.
Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness And streams in the wasteland.
