I was 36 and single and did not have any children; I was looking for an abortion fast! As I was driving I saw a sign that said “free pregnancy test” so I went in. It was confirmed that I indeed was pregnant. After spending sometime at the Women's Resource Medical Centers they made me feel like it was not a disaster and I left with the idea that there might be a “miracle” growing in me and not a “mistake”. The Center introduced me to Christ too! I look at my beautiful son and I THANK GOD everyday that I saw a “free Pregnancy Test” sign!
I was a 22-year-old single mother of a seven-month-old daughter with another baby on the way. I wondered how my life got to be so out of control. How was I going to be able to take care of two babies by myself? After many sleepless nights, I reluctantly decided that abortion was my only option. I began calling clinics that offered abortion services. I made an appointment for the end of the week. Abortions are not cheap, so one afternoon I made one last call, hoping to find a cheaper price. It turned out to be the most important phone call I have ever made. I made an appointment to speak with a counselor and have an ultrasound. Talking to the counselor at the WRMCSN changed my decision and helped me realize that this is what God wanted for me. I was finally able to look at my situation as being a gift from Him, rather than a hardship. When I saw my little one’s heart beating on the ultrasound, for the first time in a long time, I cried tears of joy, rather than tears of fear or regret. Not a day goes by that I’m not grateful for the WRMCSN for helping to save my little man’s life and helping me decide not to make a horrific mistake.
Life is always based on making difficult decisions. I know I for one have come a long way and growing up I have some made stupid choices. I started doing drugs and drinking at 16 and started cutting myself trying to attempt suicide. I thought I might be pregnant. Scared and not sure what to do, I found myself at the store as I was deciding whether or not to buy a pregnancy test. This woman came up to me seeing my distress and gave me a business card leading me to find the Women’s Resource Medical Centers. I came to the Center thinking I can have an abortion and get back to my life. I instead was brought to Christ and realized my life was actually just beginning. I have come on a long journey and realized the life I lived wasn’t living at al. What if I had an abortion, God knew where I would be now. I have a beautiful baby girl named Cynthia to live for. She was recently born and already has brought so much happiness. Thank you to the Women’s Resource Medical Centers and their volunteers, not only did the help me but they saved my life!
My sister heard of the Women’s Resource Medical Centers from one of her students at CSN and brought me here because she knew that I was considering having an abortion. I am originally from Nigeria and my husband and I live in the UK. I am a Christian but I was very afraid! The moment I stepped into the Center I felt the presence and help of God! I had a pregnancy test and was then given an ultrasound which showed I was actually 26 weeks pregnant. We have received so much from the Center in the way of spiritual and physical support. We can’t thank you enough but we know that God will reward this place for all your good deeds…. Amen!
As a single mother who became pregnant by having an affair with a married man, Iesha expressed to the counselor that having an abortion would be the best thing for her to do, especially since the father of the baby was offering to pay her $10,000 to do so. Iesha explained that he was a very successful drug dealer and she found herself attracted to the money and the fast paced lifestyle that he had offered her during the time of the affair. The counselor asked her if this lifestyle and her current situation was fulfilling and when Iesha expressed more despair, the counselor explained the only source for true love and fulfillment comes from a reconciled relationship with her Creator. Being drawn by that great love, Iesha broke down and repented. She broke off the affair and chose life for her baby. Her battle did not end there, however, as the father of the baby doubled and then tripled his offer. Iesha remained strong as God continued to reveal His love toward her and her love for her unborn child became an unbreakable bond. Her daughter, Adore, was born March 17th with a heart condition and spent 3 months in the hospital. Iesha was so grateful for the WRMCSN prayer team and Adore survived a successful heart surgery. Iesha knows that challenges and temptations will never end, but she has found strength and joy in her relationship with Jesus Christ who gave her the gift of salvation and the gift of a child.
