“I believe that for most of us, we have spent a good portion of our lives planning for our future and chasing dreams filled with monetary and material rewards. For some, a top title might bring us great honor; a salary in the three digits might prove we are successful; and prominence in our community and notoriety in the work place might fuel our self esteem.
There comes a day however, when we look in the mirror and yearn for something more. As Christian believers, this yearning becomes what drives us to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. For me personally, the years I spent as a non - believer, were filled with pursuing the plans that “I” had for “my” life. My life was ok, but it was evident that something was missing. Once I found Christ, I rapidly began growing in my faith. His will and plan for me became more and more apparent and one day….He called me to walk away from a glamorous job with glamorous benefits!
“When the Lord calls, you listen! In Isaiah 42:6-7, the Word tells us…
“I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.”
He led me to work in the mission field here at The Women’s Resource Medical Centers to pursue “His” plan for my life. I am reaping the benefits of a rewarding job for His Kingdom. I look in the mirror and I still yearn for more of what He has for me!”
